PLEASE ARRIVE AT 6.45pm TO ALLOW TIME FOR SET-UP & PAYING SUBS
The club’s programme is not restricted to term times, so there are no breaks at half term etc, and the structure of the programme will be in a 6 week format.
Please note: only bona fide members and guests permitted to Life Drawing sessions, and no cameras or other digital recording equipment permitted in the studio.

Claude Monet evening – this year is the centenary of Monet’s death so let’s commemorate the occasion by ‘painting like Monet’. Your choice of medium, and photos of Monet’s garden at Giverny featuring the lily pond will be provided for inspiration (or bring your own reference.)
24th June - ‘Mad Hatters Eat, Drink & Draw!’

Members sit in pairs, wearing a silly hat, quirky tie or cravat, and draw each other whilst sampling
a red wine/cuppa and eating a biscuit and a grape or two!
1st July - Workshop - ‘Cubism’
Member led: Patrick
A Cubist approach inspired by Juan Gris, working from abstract structure into recognisable forms and shapes. We’ll start from geometric grids (provided, but feel free and encouraged to bring your own grid), and use these as a base to build images; almost like finding forms in clouds.
Any medium is fine.

Painting skin tone using only acrylics from tube and a little water. Simulate flesh colour with only the use of brown and white. Acrylic paints will be supplied. Bring your own brushes & paper/card/board.

12th Aug -Workshop - Watercolour Demo
External tutor: Karen Austin
Painting a flower using watercolours. Watercolours are not mixed, but used quite dry and the colours layered.
Palettes, paints and brushes all supplied.
A demo using this method, followed by Karen’s supervision.
